What are dental fillings and what material is used for them?

Dental filling is a procedure used to repair structural damage of a tooth or teeth back to its original form or a form that is most suitable for the patient’s mouth and smile due to structural damage. Structural damage can be caused as a result of tooth decay (cavities), wear, or dental trauma. After the cavity or dental problem, the structure of the tooth or teeth are restored with a filling.
